What is a Bohr Model?
A Bohr Model represents an element on the Periodic Table.
100
What is the element name for O?
Oxygen
100
What is the purpose of elements?
Each individual elements have their own job in this world.
100
What is matter?
Matter is everything around you!
200
What is the first step in creating a Bohr Model?
Find the element box on the periodic table.
200
7 N What would be the mass number? Nitrogen 14.01
14 :)
200
How are the elements organized?
By their atomic number.
200
What are atoms?
Atoms are the basis of chemistry and the building blocks for everything in the universe.
300
What represents the number of electrons?
The atomic number :)
300
How would you find the number of protons in an atom?
The atomic number represents the number of protons :)
300
What are the letters on an element for?
Many periodic tables do not include the name of the elements therefore its important to memorize the symbols that accord to each element name. Each element has a specific one or two letter symbol that is used interchangeably with its symbol.
300
What are the subatomic particles in an atom?
Atoms are made of protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons have a positive (+)charge. Neutrons have a neutral(0) charge. Electrons have a negative(-) charge.
400
Where are the protons and neutrons located?
Inside the Nucleus;)
400
How would you find out the number of neutrons in an atom?
The Atomic weight.
400
Are the letters on an element always related to its name?
No! An example would be mercury. Its symbol is Hg.
400
What is the structure of the atom?
Electrons remain in the orbitals because of the "opposites attract" principal. The negative charge of electrons is attracted to the positive charge of protons in the neutrons.
500
How do you properly draw the electrons in orbit of the atom?
The first orbital can hold 2 electrons. The following orbital can hold 8 electrons. :P
500
What does the atomic number represent?
The number of protons or electrons.
500
Whats the purpose of a periodic table?
The purpose of the periodic table is to summarize and predict the properties of real elements.
