Shelter
100

Your group finds a pharmacy. Do you check for medication(s) and/or vitamin(s) or leave? (This is a question of luck, give a volunteer the dice.)

1-5: You acquire a bottle of antibiotics and a bottle of multivitamins. 6: You find nothing.

100

Your group encounters a panting hostile dog on a very dry, cold day.  What do you choose to do? (There is a possibility of the dog joining you depending on how you approach the situation)

1-3: The dog manages to bite you before you get to do something.

4-6: The dog sees how big your group is and backs off regardless.

If audience suggests to give the dog water: Seeing that the dog is simply thirsty, you give the dog some water, and it is now part of your group.

100

You encounter a cave on your journey. You can clearly see supplies that can be used for shelter. It seems like a trap. What do you do?

If you decide to get the supplies: Your group successfully gathers them, and sleeps in the cave for that night.

If you do not: Sleeping on the ground is not comfortable and you catch a cold.

200

You have received food poisoning. Do you listen to the medical students advice, which is always changing. Or do you wait for your body to do its job, however you are very thirsty..

Open ended, explain to us what you would do.

200

You have the night shift for protecting your group today. While walking around you encounter a sleeping man who obviously seems to be armed, having a gun and knife. Do you disarm him and leave him? Do you disarm him and then wake up your group to take him hostage?  Or do you use your items to do something different?

Roll The Dice: 1 - 2 he wakes up before you are able to disarm him, you die. 3 - 5 You succeed in what you chose to do, you have acquired a gun and knife 6 you get scared, and you notify your group. By the time you get back, the man is gone but has left a knife.

200

You encounter a series of treehouses, with a capacity just right for your group. Do you stay here for the night? Keep in mind that it is nearing the winter time, and the temperature at night is extra chilly. (If players have a tarp it is not usable in this environment)

1-5: Your group does not get ambushed and all is well. You are well rested, and a reroll is available if you get a bad result.

6: Your group gets ambushed, and your group leaves half of the water supply and all forms of mobile shelter in the treehouses.

If you do not: The ground is wet, and located in a swampy area. Therefore your group cannot sleep on the ground. By the end of the night, your group has spent too much time searching for shelter and is extremely tired. Any dice rolls of 1 or 6 must be rerolled on the next question.

300

Your group finds a hospital. There are many dead bodies inside. Half your group decides to wait outside for the sake of their sanity. You and the other half go looking for medical gear.

(This is a question of luck, give a volunteer the dice.)

2-4: Your group finds disinfectant and clean bandages. Everyone is fine. While exploring, you find out that this is an asylum.

5-6: Your group finds disinfectant and clean bandages, but all of you are sick for 2 days. (- 50 points)

1: While exploring the hospital, one person encounters a survivor who has gone mentally insane, and is killed. ( -200 points)

300

A broken cargo train is found by your group. Do you attempt to get the lock open with the scraps of metal lying around, but it may take a long time or leave the truck alone.

What is the man's name that the boy gives the can of food to in the book?

Wrong Answer: Unlocking took much too long, and a few bandits come around to protect their belongings (next question must be Medical 500)

Right Answer (Ely): Unlocking doesn't take too long, and you successfully manage to grab the food, consisting of canned goods. (next question must be Medical 400)

300

It is getting dark and your group sees a school that they can sleep in. Do you stay there for the night or do you sleep in the woods?

1: Your group is safe and sound, nothing happens.

2-6: Your group encounters some friendly people in the school, and you give them half of your water in return for enough food for your group to last 2 day.

Sleeping in the Woods: Your group does not sleep well (-50 points)

400

(Must be here after doing Encounters 300)

Right: Your whole group has enjoyed the food, except for the medical student, (who was suspicious of the food and didn't eat it). The student was correct, and your group has gotten sick.

According to the medical student, you have all acquired some type of influenza. Do you:

a) Visit the school you were in in the past, and ask the other group for help.

b) Allow the medical student to try and treat the group.

c) Just leave the sickness, and continue your journey. However, your group will consume all of the water and food you have.

400

Your group encounters an old farmhouse and enters inside to investigate, hopefully seeing if there was some food. Inside the farmhouse, your group finds decaying bodies that seem to have been eaten in the past. Walking further in, your group encounters an unarmed cannibal. What do you do? (Remember, your group outnumbers the man)

a) Attempt to fight him

b) Run

2-6 and your group successfully knock the man out of consciousness. Your group leaves as fast as possible. (+400)

1: You strangle him in a rage, and accidentally kill him. (+350 rather than +400)

Running: 1-4 Your group successfully escapes through the farm doors. (+400)

5-6: As he begins to chase you, he grabs his axe, that was hidden from view beforehand. (Roll the dice again to see what happens.)

1-2: While your group is running, the man throws the axe at your group, taking the person in the back down. (-200)

3-6: Your group successfully escapes the cannibal. (+400)

400

Your group finds a bunker in a hill. It seems as if the bunker was locked shut. Do you try to open it or leave? (roll the dice)

1-3: The engineer of your group manages to open it and your group can safely sleep there for the night.

4-6: The engineer is incompetent and cannot open the lock. Your group must sleep in the woods and a group member develops pneumonia.

500

(Must be here after doing Encounters 300)

Wrong: The bandits chased you off. Luckily they did not have large weapons. They only had 2 police batons. Two members of your group receive severe arm injuries. The medical student has never seen this type of trauma before and does not have the confidence to treat it.

To have the student treat the members, answer this multiple choice question.

What type of ammo did the father find in the bunker full of food? (20 Seconds)

a) 9mm rounds + .38 specials

b) .45 ACP + .30-30 rifle rounds

c) .357 magnums + 12 gauge ammo

Right answer: The medical student is able to provide treatment, and both your members arms should be healing. (full amount of points awarded)

Wrong answer: The medical student makes it worse, and you have no choice but to amputate. (-200 points)

500

Your group encounters a heavily armed group of people who do not seem to be cannibals at first glance. Their group seems similar to yours, as they have women and children as well, hiding behind those that are armed.

The group will think you are hostile unless you explain that you are not. How do you tell the other group this? (Open ended answer, result depends on how you explain your actions)

500

Your group finds a farmhouse. It seems like all the other buildings, torn apart, but is still manageable for short periods of living. Given this, there was surely someone here before, or are presently there at this moment.

Do you go and investigate the farmhouse and take shelter there for a night? Or do you take your group back on the road?

Investigate: As you're walking up the hill, you spot bear traps all around the property. You warn your group and tell them to walk in a single file line to avoid anyone getting caught in a bear trap.

1-3: A group member, (not a very bright one), decides to step to the side to see how far the farmhouse is. This ends up in the member walking right into a bear trap. Their leg has to be amputated as the bear trap is extremely rusty and had fungi on it. Your group fixes the group member up and stays in the farmhouse for the night. No one got a good sleep due to the group member groaning all night due to the pain. (-200 points)

4-6: No one is being an idiot and everyone makes it to the farmhouse with all their limbs. Everyone gets a goodnight sleep and heads out on the exact same way they came from. (Full amount of points awarded)

Road: Your group has to sleep in the forest tonight. No one slept well. (+450 points, 50 points deducted)
