You want to join the jama‘ah maghrib prayer.

How do you join the prayer, and how do you finish your prayer after the imam finishes?

  1. Say “Allahu Akbar” and join immediately while the imam is in qunut.

  2. You stand with him, and you may

    • raise your hands and do qunut quietly, or

    • stay silent.
      (Both are valid)

  3. When the imam goes to ruku‘, you follow him.
    This becomes your 1st rak‘ah.

HOW TO FINISH THE PRAYER:

  1. When the imam finishes does tahshood your crouched up ready to stand, you contine the third with the imam becomes your secound then 

  2. After the imam says salām:

    • Stand up immediately

    • Pray your 3rd rakiah by yourself

In shia fiqh:

  • Then the prayer remains valid, because the impurity was unknown at the time of praying.

Key Rule:

Unintentional or unknown najasah does not invalidate the prayer.
