Why is our Constitution considered a flexible document?
Our founding fathers realized if our government was going to last as long as they hoped it did, it would need to be flexible. One way to make that happen was to add the amendment process. Amendments are changes or additions to a law. In the United States we've had 27 amendments made to the Constitution.

What is the Great Compromise?
Great Compromise (or Connecticut Compromise in honor of its architects, Connecticut delegates Roger Sherman and Oliver Ellsworth) provided a dual system of congressional representation. In the House of Representatives each state would be assigned a number of seats in proportion to its population. In the Senate, all states would have the same number of seats.
