Decomposition is bad for the soil! It releases harmful byproducts and contaminants back into the environment after the decomposition is complete.

True or False?

FALSE!

The nutrients from decomposition go back into the soil and help to promote soil health, nutrient cycling and water retention.

At high altitudes, there is much less pressure from the atmosphere. As a result, oxygen molecules are much more spread apart. This means that we will inhale less oxygen molecules per breath we take. What are 2 things your body does in response to the changes in this environment?

Faster breathing

Higher red blood cell production

Corn contains a high amount of cellulose, a complex carbohydrate that is difficult for the human body to break down. Because of this a significant portion of the corn that we eat passes through this system undigested, leaving visible corn kernels in your stool. What organ system is not doing its job. Jason is a senior in college! His last spring break is rolling around and he decides to spend it visiting his 83 year old grandfather. As a kid Jason would spend whole summers and weeks during the school year with his grandfather, but as he's gotten older they don't really hang out as much. The last time they had seen each other was thanksgiving. Jason wanted to surprise his grand-dad with this visit so he didn't call before he showed up. Upon knocking on the front door, expecting to be met with a big hug and a smile ear to ear, he was met with a shotgun to the face. His grandfather had no idea who he was. After a while gramps recognized Jason and welcomed him in but Jason politely declined. Instead he walked back to his car, to call his parents. Upon hearing what happened they immediately explained that gramps was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease about a month ago. Alzheimers a irreversible brain disorder that directly destroys brain cells(neurons/nerve cells). Which organ system does this condition directly effect?
