Why is it difficult to make good decisions when you’re having strong emotions?

The amygdala works faster than the cortex, the cortex can get overwhelmed by emotions, and emotions can take over, causing you to say or do something you might regret.

When you make positive self-talk a habit, you can rewire your brain to pay more attention to the positives.
