What are our 'Key Materials' across all of our Thuma products. There are 14!
Rubberwood - Our core material for bedroom essentials. The wood we use is repurposed from rubberwood trees at the end of their latex-producing lifecycles. An especially strong, stable and long lasting construction material that supports a circular and sustainable supply chain.
Linen Weave - Designed to provide longevity and a subtle texture. Made from polyester.
Boucle - Fabric composed of looped yarns for a plush feel and textured look. Made from polyester.
Corduroy - Corduroy is a durable yet soft textile known for its ribbed texture. Ours is made of eco-friendly materials, in part from post-consumer recycled plastic water bottles, roughly nine in every yard of fabric.
Wool Felt - Wool felt is a natural nonwoven textile that begins as wool roving and is intentionally made compact and matted. Innately durable, eco-friendly, noise-minimizing, and soft.
PET - PET is an eco-friendly material made from recycled plastic bottles. The fiber provides high-performance durability and prevents excess shedding when used in products like The Rug.
Powder Coated Steel - Powder-coated steel is highly durable with an efficient coating that keeps out contaminants, allowing the material to last longer.
CERTI-PUR-US POLYURETHANE FOAM - Our Certi-PUR-US polyurethane foam formulated with up to 20% plant-based BioFoam®. Designed to provide support, breathability, edge reinforcement, and reduce motion transfer.
Latex - Latex is a non-toxic natural material that comes from rubberwood trees. Ours is sustainably farmed and certified by the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS). Provides pressure-point relief, breathability, durability, natural responsiveness to movement, and antimicrobial properties.
Recycled Wool - Our wool is a natural material, upcycled from discarded garments, that is inherently durable, moisture-wicking, antimicrobial, and soft with a small carbon footprint.
European Flax Linen - European flax linen is natural textile that is breathable, thermoregulating, and moisture-wicking.
Cotton Percale - A natural textile, cotton percale is durable, soft, and breathable. Provides a smooth and crisp handfeel.
Midweight Terry - Our midweight terry fabric provides the ultimate in comfort and softness. Made from organic cotton.
Down Alternative - Our down alternative is made from post-consumer recycled fiber. It mimics the plushness of natural down but with simpler maintenance, improved longevity, and less allergens.
