Who is Miss Caroline?

She is Scout’s 1st grade teacher from North Alabama and she’s got some new teaching methods. She is upset with Scout because she can read and write and tells her to make Atticus stop teaching her and to stop reading.

What does Scout think of the Radley house and what does she hear, and why is that sound important.

She views the house as haunted and not something that you would want to go to or around. It is the home of Boo Radley, and Scout hears laughter inside when she rolls in a tyre and hits the house. This is important because it shows that he is alive and he knows that they’re there and what they’re doing.

Logos comes from the Greek word for reason and is an appeal to logic. It is used for convincing an audience through the use of facts and statistics. Logos is an effective method of persuasion because we are more willing to accept an argument when the information is sound and factual.

The book says “It’s a sin to kill a mocking bird”. That is the passage where it comes from, and it is named that because the book has a lot to do with black people and Atticus defending them, which is viewed as a “sin”

He is very very poor and doesn’t bathe or anything of the sort. He and his family only go to school for the first day and then don’t come back. He cussed out Miss Caroline and made her cry.
