Cunningham's mob wanted to get to Tom Robinson to inflict their own justice upon him.
What does Atticus explain to the children about Mr.Cunningham?
That Mr. Cunningham is basically a good man he just had a lot of blind spots, and that yes he was apart of a mob the night before but he is still a man.
Who presides over Tom’s trial?
Judge Taylor presides over Tom Robinson’s trial.
What did Mr. Heck Tate's mob want?
They wanted to make sure Atticus and Tom Robinson would be all right.
Why did Mr. Cunningham's mob leave?
Scout, Jem and Dill arrived on the scene. Scout identified Mr. Cunningham and began speaking to him on a personal basis, also she reminded him that Atticus had done some legal work for him. It made Cunningham, realize that they were individuals, neighbors, and that they really didn't want to hurt Atticus or anyone else.
What did Jem say about Mr.X Billups?
He was a funny man and that he was in court one time and they asked him his name and he said X Billups and he said that X was is name not and initial.
What makes one a Mennonite, according to Jem?
Mennonites don’t use buttons, they live deep in the woods, trade across the river, rarely come to Maycomb, and have blue eyes. The men do not shave after they marry.

To attack Atticus because he thought they were a gang.

Because they didn't belong to any group, both the Blacks and the Whites did not want them.

Mr. Dolphus Raymond was a white man who married a black woman and lived with the black community. Jem has heard a story that Mr. Raymond is always drunk.
