Problem Solving question: A client is engaging in SIB behavior when Denied access to a highly preferred toy. What should be your intervention.
SAFETY FIRST: Block client's SIB behavior to keep client safe. Make sure that you are also in a safe space during behavior. Call BCBA or other available staff member for help.
Possible answers: Provide functional communication training. Premack principle, (first/then statements), Redirect/Provide alternative activity for client. Reinforce when client is engaging in non-maladaptive behaviors.
