What is the rope/handles?
Used until good quadriceps control is demonstrated.
What is a knee immobilizer?
Patient requires minimal assistance during long-term stay.
What is assisted/independent living?
Assess the patient's ability to tolerate completion of ADLs. Modify when necessary.
What is activity tolerance?
The shoe horn should be placed here when donning and doffing a shoe.

Avoid crossing operated leg over nonoperated leg.

Patient receives treatment in his/her or a caretaker's home.

Instruct the patient on incorporating functional positioning and facilitation of proper body mechanics when performing activities.

Position curved part of sock aide with bottom of sock, then slide sock over end of sock aide opposite of the end with handles.
