Scene 2: Tranio (as Lucentio) talks to Hortensio as Litio and says that Bianca likes him over Litio. Then Litio says oh yeah, well watch this spy over Biana and Cambio and you will see how much she fancy’s Cambio. So then, Lition and Tranio spy over Cambio and sees that Bianca really does fancy Cambio (Lucentio). After seeing this. Hortensio gives up and leaves Bianca forever and goes to find a widow that he may marry. Tranio announces this to Bianca, and she almost seems excited while replying. Meanwhile, after this Biondello arrives telling Tranio that he finally found the guy to be the fake Vincentio (father of Lucentio) to sign on the contract. That guy was a merchant. The way that Tranio convinces the merchant to do this is by telling him that, the place he is from Mantua is in a big fight with Padua, and that to stay safe he had to be disguised as someone from Padua or another place. The merchant accepts thinking this will keep him out of trouble. So Tranio tells him he must do his part and sign what the real Vincentio was supposed to sign, and the merchant accepts. Scene 3: Katherine begs Grumio to spare her some food, she is starved, and Grumio listening to his Master’s orders makes a joke out of it and annoys her till she says you know what just go I am fine; which is what happens. After this, Petruchio shows Kate her dress and other clothes that she must wear to see her father. Yte, he just yells at the tailor for how horrible of a dress he has made. The tailor says that this is what he had ordered, so then Petruchio blames it on Grumio--this creates a quarrel between the tailor and Grumio. So, Petruchio yells at both of them and decides that himself and Kate Will show show up maybe dressed poorly but will have money in their pockets. Scene 4: Tranio bring the merchant to the house so that he can sign the papers and leave. Then, the merchant takes about himself (vincentio) and makes it seem as if this is really him. Baptista and Tranio decide that the signing of the papers shall take place at Lucentio’s home. Also, Cambio must bring Bianca to the event. Scene 5: Petruchio is being very stubborn towards Kate, for example he is making her call the sun the moon because that is what he wants. And everything that KAte says, Petruchio says the opposite. Everyone believes the merchant because Tranio acting as Lucentio says that the Merchant is his real father. Because of this, the merchant says to take the real Vincentio to jail. So, the real Vincentio tries to tell Biondello (his servant), that he must tell the real Vincentio. Biondello takes Lucentio's side and fails to tell that the real Vincentio is the Vincentio indeed. And as an effect Biondello gets slapped. This creates everyone to think that the real Vincentio is a madman. Then Tranio talks to the real Vincentio and yells at him for hitting his servant.
