Opening the Polls
If you are unable to enter the voting enclosure by 6:00 a.m. on Election Day, what should you do?
Notify the BOE and call your facilities contact person immediately. Worst case scenario, be prepared to issue provisional ballots to voters in the parking lot if you are still not inside by the time the polls open at 6:30 a.m.
Are you responsible for collecting the campaign signs outside your precinct at the end of the day?
No. You are only responsible for the signs you put up (i.e. "no campaigning signs" or "vote here" signs). We are not responsible for campaign signs and it is considered theft to take them.
Should you ask a provisional voter for their photo ID?
Yes. You must asks for ID when a voter is voting provisionally for an issue such as unreported move or incorrect precinct.
Are observers allowed to observe the opening of the polls?
Yes. Anyone may observe the opening of the polls as long as they do not interfere with the process.

The DS200 should always be plugged into a surge protector. This will protect the tabulator in the event of a power surge.
Copy 1 is returned to the BOE by the HDO in the Election Night Return Media Bag.
Copies 2 and 3 are posted for public viewing.
