Everyone can play a role in preventing violence in our community.

What are two different types of relationship violence?

  • Physical Abuse: includes deliberately aggressive or violent behavior by one person toward another that may result in bodily injury.
  • Emotional/Psychological Abuse: involves patterns of behavior that insult, frighten, or isolate an intimate partner in attempt to maintain power and control over them.
  • Digital Dating Abuse: is the use of technologies such as texting and social networking to bully, harass, stalk or intimidate a partner. Often this behavior is a form of verbal or emotional abuse perpetrated online.
  • Academic Abuse:  Involved someone preventing, manipulating, or distracting one’s focus on academics
  • Financial Abuse:  An individual has control over another access to economic resources, which diminishes the victim’s capacity to support themselves and forces them to depend on the perpetrator financially.
