Explain the Process of Applying for Housing
Students apply for housing online by going to the housing portal (http://my.housing.ufl.edu), signing on with their GatorLink user name and password, and selecting “Single Student Housing Application”. The student will be asked to update or confirm their contact information and indicated if they have a medical condition requiring housing accommodations or State of Florida Prepaid Program for housing. Once this is done the student will be redirected to the IPAY system to pay the nonrefundable $25 application fee. We only accept credit cards online. If they do not have an accepted credit card, we can send them a paper application which they will return with a check for $25 for the application fee. When the transaction is complete they will be redirected to the housing portal with a message that the payment is being processed. Once their payment has successfully processed, which may take up to 48 hours (not including weekends), the student will be sent a confirmation email. Their housing application date will be established as the date they applied (not the date that the payment processed). This date is very important and will be used both in determining who is offered housing and when making room assignments
