The Super fleet consists of six core production locomotives built between 1990-1995

in 2022, Amtrak placed an order for new Siemens ALC-42 locomotives. They overall were not too good operation wise at the start, but Siemens gradually updated them, and now they run on tons of Amtrak services! (P42DCs can still be seen running on many Amtrak routes or on the same consist with ALC-42s)
