Explain what happened at the Battle of Bunker Hill

2,600 British soldiers showed up in Charlestown and attacked the Patriots by land and by boat.

The Patriots were outnumbered and lost, however, this battle showed Britain that the Americans were tough and were not afraid to fight. Many more colonists joined the Patriot army after this battle and the revolution continued to grow.
