Argumentative states a claim and uses evidence to support the claim. While informative just states the topic and shows evidence to explain the topic.

Dashes and parentheses are used to include information into sentences. What is the MAIN difference between dashes and parentheses and why they are used? 

Parentheses information, if taken out of the sentence would still make sense and the information is quick and small. 

Dashes are for including information in the sentence that helps the reader understand the sentence. The information is much larger, and if not included would make the sentence a bit confusing or incomplete.
