What is the opt out process?

First, attempt to have an organizing conversation. If Member still wants to opt out they must do the following:

The request must include ALL of the following information in order to be processed:

  • A clear statement of what is being requested (opt-out of the Union, cancel/reduce COPE)
  • Member's full legal name
  • SEIU member ID number
  • Member's mailing address
  • Member's phone number
  • Date of the written request
  • Member's handwritten signature

From MT, or Nursing homes w/o a profile

Requesting general information. 


We cannot assist if: 

The person is not employed through one of our unionized employers.

The person is inquiring specific information about their union account that is not created yet.

What should we do when a member states their membership card was forged? 

Advise Member to: 

Send a written request to the Secretary-Treasurer to stop dues deduction. In their written statement, member should include a request for a refund because they did not sign the membership card as well as the reason they believe that. 

Rep should: send an email to MRC.Coach@seiu775.org with the associated case number, member's SEIU ID number, and a brief description of the member's claim.

The member is calling stating that they are logging into M+ to apply for the credit card but when they click on it and enter their login it does not work. How would you help the member?

They credit card link will take them to SEIU Member Benefits (SEIU MB) so their M+ login would not work. We would need to advise them to create another login on SEIU MB to access the benefit.

What is the Agency Parity Law? 

Agency Parity Law ensures funding equality. This means that AP contracts have to be on par with IP contracts. So APs must get the same funding for benefits as the IP contract if not more.
