A value between -1 and 1 that defines negative or positive correlation

A scientific study where researchers manipulate an independent variable in a real-world setting to measure the effect on a dependent variable

An experimental technique where researchers use chance to place participants into different study groups

a cognitive bias where a person perceives a relationship between two unrelated variables, or overestimates how strongly they are connected
Illusory correlation
a scientific test run in a controlled indoor space where researchers change one factor to measure its effect on another
Laboratory experiment
A phenomenon in which symptoms improve after receiving fake treatment
