It changed the way we worked because now we focused on doing only 1 thing really well to create many products instead of doing many tasks to create 1 product at a time. The Winnipeg General Strike was when workers from many industries stopped working to fight for better workers' rights and higher pay in 1919. It happened because workers were fed up with being treated poorly by capitalists (business/factory owners).

Which groups were discouraged from joining the fight during WWI? Why?

Asian Canadians, Ukrainians, Germans, Indigenous, and black Canadians were discouraged to fight. This was due to racism and discrimination. With the case of Ukrainians, many white European Canadians did not believe the Ukrainians were 'white' and also were worried they were enemy aliens. Women were also discouraged to join except for some allowed to go over to Europe as nurses. This was due to sexism- the belief that men were better than women.
