An area that must have a center point. Good examples of distance decay. Some examples are Local TV/ Radio stations, market areas of grocery stores, metro regions, etc.

Singapore because they are in a very poor area and decided to build off of what they had and ended up being extremely successful and is a very rich, touristy country today with the best airport in the world.

The South because some people may disagree if they are part of the South or not. For example, Alabama, EVERYONE will say that they are in the South and have that culture, but Texas may say that they are no specific region, they are their own region and are TEXANS.
