The Prophet saw Angel Gibrail and he was asked to recite. The first revelation was revealed to him and the Prophet was very frightened. He ran home and told his wife Bibi Khadija who believed him.

The Prophet received a revelation from Allah to tell the Muslims "He who's Mawla I am, Ali is his Mawla". For our community we believe this was the decalaration of Imam Ali as the next leader of the Muslim community.

Our Imams have divine knowledge, they have the nur or light of God within them. They have special knowledge of the Qur'an that has been passed on from Prophet Muhammad to Imam Ali and onwards.
