Which came first the Old Covenant or the New Covenant?
Old
Your class is going on an overnight field trip. You and two of your friends are sharing a room and are assigned one more student who didn't have anyone to go with because nobody likes them. You find they lack self awareness and think having no friends is their own fault. From a human dignity perspective, how could you look at this situation differently?
-God's light is in everyone
-Maybe this situation happened to you so that you could help that light shine through this person
-They might lack awareness due to having parents who have not shown them a good example, due to having a neurodiversity that makes it harder for them or they have experienced trauma that makes them unhappy and causes them to lash out
-Maybe by showing them grace and kindness, they can learn from you and start acting in a better manner.
-Maybe you could give them a chance and become friends
-Maybe you could try to see the good in them and include them because it's what God would want you to do
Name two facts about the Apostle Paul
Paul is second only to Jesus himself as a central figure in the New Testament.
Paul spread the early Gospel proclamation beyond the Jewish realm and into the Gentile (non-Jewish) world
Paul was born a Jew in Tarsus, the capital city of the Roman region called Cilicia, in Asia Minor, now known as southern Turkey
Paul was educated in the philosophies of Greek culture
Paul’s family, though devout Jews, had been granted the rare privilege of Roman citizenship
This unique background gave Paul the skills needed to pass on the Gospel message to the Gentile world
Paul’s Jewish name, the one used within the community, was Saul, while his name in Roman and Greek circles was Paul
What are two differences between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant?
New: the holy spirit is in everyone regardless of class, status or race
Old: was established with the Jewish people alone
New: Includes forgiveness, a personal relationship with God and eternal love
Old: based on external laws (ten commandments) that had to be obeyed
New: put into place because of Jesus' sacrifice
Old: given to Moses on Mount Sinai
What is a personal creed you have? What is a choice you make/have made that is guided by it?
Example:
Creed: Integrity
Decision: As a coach in volleyball, if the scorekeeper forgets a point for the other team, I let them know because I want to win fairly. It is also the right thing to do.

Explain metanoia using the Apostle Paul's conversion.
Metanoia: A complete conversion, change of heart, transformation...
Paul was not Catholic, he underwent his transformation when he was walking the road to Damascus. Jesus spoke to him and it was such a powerful experience that he began his missionary work. That ministry ultimately took him to his death in the city of Rome.
Name all the modern day countries Paul journeyed to to spread the good news/holy spirit.
Greece, Malta, Italy, Syria, Turkiye (born there), Cyprus, Israel, Palestine
Share and explain 2 ways why Mary is a positive example for women:
1) She was ahead of her time. When God asked her to bear his child, she agreed without needing to consult her father or fiancé as she knew she was capable of making decisions. This was evolved for the time period where women were expected to consult or obey their "keepers" on each decision.
2) She was strong. She knew this choice could entail a lot of hardship and welcomed it due to her faith. She endured much pain and suffering by loving and caring for Jesus during his journey.
3) She was benevolent. She devoted her life to helping people. (Intercession)
Explain the process of salvation and how it relates to repentance, intercession and grace.
Salvation: A liberation from evil into a state of freedom and security
It is attained beginning with baptism and with ongoing repentance for our sins that include taking strides to correct sinful behaviour.
Intercession is the act of praying for forgiveness with someone else (like Mother Mary) to guide us and pray with us for forgiveness from God.
Grace is a free unearned love, including help and mercy, from God that helps us to reach salvation by asking forgiveness and transforming into better versions of ourselves so that we may be permitted in the Kingdom of Heaven.
