Main point: Allah has given us the ability to make all kinds of things, but only Allah can create a living thing such as a plant. Allah alone has the power to give life and make living things grow.
Why did Prophet Muhammad tell the people to pray to Allah? What were they praying to before? How often should we pray?
He asked the people to believe in Allah and pray to Him everyday because only He, the Creator of the World, can hear their prayers. They used to pray to idols made of wood or stone. We should pray to Allah everyday and when we pray we must understand the meaning of our prayers. Allah listens to our prayers and He helps us when we pray to Him.
