Explain one result of the Treaty of Paris of 1783 after the American Revolution and its importance for the United States’ future.

  1. The British agreed to recognize the independence of the United States of America. Now that the United States were independent, they took firm hold of freedom of trade which sparked a growing economy. As an independent nation, they also focused on liberty and equality for Americans as they started to create a new government based on republicanism.

  2. The British agreed to approve the new American boundaries. The new country was bounded on the West by the Mississippi River, on the North by Canada, and the South by Florida owned by Spain. Lands owned by many Loyalists and Native Americans were signed away to the United States. With this land and new borders, the United States is going to have lots of room to grow and expand their territory. Without the limits of a king, they will grow and expand their territory.
