The golden sun dips low in the sky,
A breeze dances through fields of rye.
Crickets chirp in a symphony clear,
Calling the dusk, drawing it near.
The river hums in a tranquil tune,
Bidding farewell to the fading moon.

The flowers sway with a gentle nod,
Their petals kissed by the hand of God.
Shadows stretch as the day grows thin,
The quiet night's song begins again.
The earth feels soft beneath my feet,
A tender retreat, serene and sweet.

The fireflies spark in fleeting light,
Guiding the weary into the night.
Their glow tells tales of an ancient past,
Where dreams were woven to forever last.
Their dance writes poems upon the air,
A fleeting beauty, beyond compare.

The forest whispers its secret lore,
Of travelers lost and tales of yore.
Each rustling leaf, a voice untamed,
Each broken twig, a step unnamed.
The echoes swirl in the evening breeze,
Mysteries wrapped in the cloaking trees.

At last, the stars emerge to see,
A sky alive with eternity.
The meadow rests in the moon’s embrace,
Each blade of grass holds the night’s grace.
And as I stand in the shadowed glow,
I feel the peace only nature can show.

On a warm summer night, Ella chased fireflies across the yard, her jar glowing like a tiny lantern. The fireflies lit up the darkened field, their soft golden flashes weaving through the tall grass like scattered sparks from a hidden campfire. Fireflies glow because of a chemical reaction in their bodies called bioluminescence, which helps them attract mates or ward off predators. Each flicker felt like catching a star, and Ella laughed as one landed gently on her nose.
