Q: What rule did Bailing break?

Yiming saw no cars and dashed across the street. “Come on!” he called to Bailing.

Honk! A taxi screeched to a stop. The driver glared. “Use the crosswalk! You could’ve been hit!”

Bailing’s face turned red as she hurried back to the sidewalk. Lin Dong shook his head. “That’s why jaywalking is illegal.”

Luyao pointed to the pedestrian light. “See? It’s green now. We could’ve just waited.”

Yiming sighed. “Okay, okay. I get it.”

As they crossed safely, Bailing muttered, “Next time, I’m waiting.”

Cross the road when light is green.

No jaywalking!
