You might believe that beavers damage the land. However, they help the environment in many ways. A beaver builds a dam by dragging logs into the water. Insects make homes in these logs, and, as a result, fish have a food source. When water flows through the logs, the wood stops pollution and tiny bits of soil from moving any farther. Because this water is filtered by the dam, the water flowing downstream is cleaner.
