A segregationist is a person who believes that different groups of people, especially those of different races, should be kept apart. An assimilationist is a person who believes that folks who are not white should adopt the customs, values, and behaviors of white folks to make white folks feel “comfortable.” An antiracist is someone who actively works to challenge and oppose racism by identifying and confronting racist laws, behaviors, and beliefs.
