What were two (2) effects of the French and Indian War after the British won?

The British spent so much money to win the war that they began taxing the colonists to get money back.

The British gained land in the Ohio River Valley and increased their territory in America.

British Parliament (without representatives for the colonists) created the Stamp Act to cover the expenses of defending, protecting, and securing the British colonies and plantations in America.  They believed further revenue (money they would get) was needed to cover the expense of protecting the colonies.  They required all official paper to have a stamp placed on it. This meant the colonists had to pay the tax and to use the paper.

Based on the source above and your knowledge of social studies, why did the passage of the Stamp Act make the colonists so angry? TWO POSSIBLE ANSWERS

They did not have representatives to vote for their interests in Parliament.

They were forced to pay the tax because all paper items needed a royal stamp
