100

Name two bad things that entered the world for the first time after the Fall.

Accept two of these: sin, death, disease, sorrow, natural disasters, crime, violence, thorns, pain in childbirth.

100

What is odd about a typical toy ark? Why doesn’t it represent the real Ark described in the Bible?

The toy arks don’t look seaworthy and they don’t look big enough to contain all the animals, people, and supplies. They don’t match up with the Ark’s description in the Bible.

100

What does everyone do to deserve God’s judgment and death?

We all sin against God.

100

How many Ice Ages have there been?

One.

100

What lived and what died during the year-long flood?

Every animal that lived on the land and breathed air died unless it was aboard the Ark. Of all the people, only the eight people aboard the Ark lived.

200

Who did we get our sin nature from?

The first man, Adam.

200

How does the rainbow covenant remind us that the Flood covered the entire globe?

If the Flood was just a local event, God has broken His promise because we have local floods all the time.

200

How did God demonstrate judgment when He punished Cain for the sin of murder?

He banished Cain to go live in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

200

What happened to the people because of the confusion of the languages at Babel?

They scattered all over the earth.

200

Who killed whom of Adam’s sons because of jealousy?

Cain killed Abel.

300

Why did God bring the Flood on the earth in the days of Noah?

Because the people were sinful, God must judge sin, and the punishment for sin is death.

300

Name two ways we can know the Flood covered the entire globe.

The wording in the Bible is clear; it says the water covered the highest hills. Also, Jesus and Peter spoke of the global nature of the Flood. And the rainbow covenant reminds us that the Flood was global. Fossils, including those of sea creatures, are found all over the world—even on top of the tallest mountains.

300

How did God show His mercy and grace to sinners?

He sent Jesus to take the punishment for sin, so anyone who believes has eternal life through faith in Him.

300

Name one thing that would have caused the Ice Age after the Flood. (Refer to the conditions of the earth after the Flood that would have led to an Ice Age.)

See PowerPoint.

300

Who was Cain’s wife?

The Bible gives us all we need to know to figure out that he married his sister or other close relative because that was not forbidden yet. It couldn’t have been a cousin since Adam and Eva had no brothers or sisters.

500

Is it a good idea to listen to our heart and follow its desires? Why or why not?

No. The Bible describes the evil that is in the heart of every person. We should follow God and do what He has commanded in His Word.

500

Name one way the work of Christ was foreshadowed in the events of the Flood.

See PowerPoint.

500

How did God demonstrate mercy when He punished Cain for the sin of murder?

He showed mercy when He allowed him to live and have a family and gave him a mark to warn others not to kill him.

500

Why did God confuse the languages at Babel?

The people disobeyed God’s command to multiply and fill the earth. Instead they gathered together to build a city and a tower and to make a name for themselves. God was judging their sinful actions and forcing them to fill the earth as He had commanded.

500

What is one thing we see all over the world that confirms what the Bible says about the confusion of languages?

Accept one of these answers. Similar architecture/tower structures around the world or similar cultures and legends around the world that are similar to the event the Bible describes.
