The forced march of the Cherokee from southeast US to the west

Henry Clay came up with the idea that Missouri was a slave state and Maine was a free state. Slavery was banned in the rest of the Louisiana Territory north of the 36°30'N parallel.

South Carolina passed the Nullification act, declaring it would not pay the "illegal" tariffs, they threatened to break away from the Union. Jackson backed a bill that would lower the tariff

The United States would not interfere with any existing European colonies in the Americas. No new European colonies should be set up in the Western Hemisphere
