A political event where South Carolina refused to follow a federal tariff, so President Jackson threatened to bring the military to the state to get them to comply.

This was a South Carolina senator who believed that slavery was a "positive good."

A Federalist party meeting where they discussed secession leading to the collapse of the two party system.
