Why is this line of a poem an allusion?

I believed him

I followed him

An allusion makes us understanding what's being said by comparing one thing to something else that is really famous, like a historic event, a famous character in a book, etc.

In this example, most people know the story of Adam and Eve being tricked by the snake in the Garden of Eden, so we know the "him" being spoken about was untrustworthy and that the speaker in this poem was gullible (easily led).
