When looking on the right side of the decimal you look at each place value. They both have 5 tenths and they both have 9 hundredths. Adding a zero in the thousandths DOES NOT change the value of the number!

Round to nearest whole number why?

5.349

5, because I look at my tenths place value. The tenths place is a 3 so I know it is closer to 5 and not 6.

Round 6.076 to the nearest hundredth.

CONVINCE/EXPLAIN me how you round 6.076 to the nearest hundredth

6.08

When you are rounding to the nearest hundredth I pay attention to the thousandths place. If the thousandths place is five or larger I round the hundredths place up, but if it is 4 or below I keep it low.
