The metaphor in "The Crossover" connects to the theme about success because it it shows that  the twins look the same, but they are very different. Even thought they have different skillsets, as each poem in "The Crossover" describes, they are both successful basketball players


The simile and hyperbole in the lines of "Double Doubles" connect to its theme of teamwork. The sisters they work together so well because of how well they know each other's games, and this leads to success on the court.
