Although block printing had been in use in China and Korea since about 800 AD, it was not a practical invention. The Chinese and Korean languages were complex, and it took too much time to print a single page.

C. Chinese and Korean printing presses were invented at a time when no one was interested in reading.

D. Chinese and Korean businessmen were not able to market the printing press as well as German businessmen.
