A scandal that ended Nixon's Presidency. Members of his reelection committee will sneak into the DNC offices at watergate and try to plant bugs. When he finds out, Nixon will try to cover it up, leading to his impeachment. 

Nixon will resign knowing that he'll be voted out, but his replacement, Gerald Ford, will pardon him from any crimes.

The idea that Communism needed to be contained by any means necessary. Under the containment policy of the Truman Doctrine, the US would use whatever it needed to keep communism from spreading.

After the overthrow of Cuba's dictator by the communists led by Fidel Castro, the USSR planned on building nuclear missile sites on the island. The US fought against this, blockading the island of Cuba from USSR transport ships. Eventually, the hostilities will cease, and the US will pull their missiles from Turkey.
