Many different cultures make up what we know today as Latin America region. These cultures primarily include indigenous groups, descendants from Africa, descendants of Spanish and Portuguese colonists, and people who have descendants from two or more of these groups.  During colonization someone with people with both European and indigenous blood would be called "mestizos." Overall, many of these groups have blended overtime resulting in various combinations of cultural practices.
