Renewal of Baptismal Vows = Candidates stand before the Priests and answer the questions about their belief in the Blessed Trinity with the words "I do"
Anointing with the Sacred Chrism = Priest puts oil on the candidates head to officially confirm them into the church and says "be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit". The candidate responds "amen."
Describe the events of Passover
God’s people are being mistreated and tortured by the Pharaoh of Egypt
God sends multiple plagues, but the Pharaoh continues to mistreat God’s people
God decides to send another plague which will kill off the oldest son of all the people.
God tells his people to sacrifice their best lamb, and mark their doors with the blood of that lamb so that the angel of death will pass over their house and save their people.
Ever since that day Jewish people still celebrate Passover in similar ways to memorialize God saving his people.
What are the 3 aspects of Lent that we are called to focus on?
Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving
Jesus’ disciples are in hiding in Jerusalem and praying a ton for Jesus to send them the gift He promised to send them
A great wind flows through the house the disciples are staying in
Fire appears over the heads of the disciples
The disciples then go and spread the Good News across the city of Jerusalem to lots of different tribes of people because the disciples are now able to speak languages they did not previously know.
