Found in Concept 2.5 Explore Tab 9

  1. Changing the Social Security program. People could invest in private accounts. The government could limit benefits for wealthier Americans. It could also raise the retirement age.
  2. Targeted immigration policies could encourage more skilled workers to come to the United States from other countries. This could help with the problem of worker shortages in some fields and help boost revenue from Social Security and Medicare taxes.
  3. Through skills training programs and outreach efforts, senior citizens could be encouraged to do part-time or volunteer work. Keeping senior citizens in the workforce longer would allow older Americans to contribute valuable skills, experience, and tax revenue to the nation.
