Clappers are people who inject their blood with some explosive chemical that when coming in contact with force, explodes. This causes the person also to explode.

Lev at first is motivated by the thought that being unwound is some sort of honor and that God wanted him to be unwound. He is then motivated to put other people through the pain he went through.

Roland is one of the main antagonists. He tries to get other Unwinds to rally with him and overthrow their superiors. He is an enemy to Connor.

Storking is when a child is left at the doorway to a house.

What does Unwind mean?
Unwinding is when a child between the ages of 13 and 18 is signed up by their parents to have their body/internal organs separated to give to other people. Unwinding is not considered as killing.
