What was the Great Compromise that was made during the Constitutional Convention?
The Great Compromise was a compromise made between the small states and the large states during the Constitutional Convention. It created two houses to make both happy. The Senate was created in support of the New Jersey plan in which each state gets 2 senators no matter the population. The House of Representatives was created in support of the Virginia Plan in which each state gets a number of Representatives depending on that state's population.
