Entering the Art Room
This is how you should enter the art classroom each morning.
What is calmly and quietly?
These are the only two expectations during the beginning of class three minute meditation time.
What is sit in your seat and work quietly?
This is how you should be during instructional time to be sure you are getting all important information.
What is sitting up in my seat, focused, with eyes and ears open?
These are some of the things you are responsible for at the end of class each day.
What is making sure my art project has been properly stored, that I have cleaned and returned supplies to their proper location, that I have cleaned myself, and that my area has been wiped down and trash picked up?

What is TRUE!?
During meditation time you should not raise your hand to ask questions or be out of your seat unless there is an emergency. When is the best time to ask questions and collect your materials?
When is as you enter the room and for the first 2-3 minutes of class?
It's normal to have questions and want to share ideas during instructional time! What should you do when one pops up?
What is raise your hand and wait patiently to be called on?
True or False! It is okay for me to help out with trash or messes that are not mine.
What is TRUE!?
This is where you will find coloring pages, word searches, paper, pencils, coloring materials, and anything else you might like for your beginning of class meditation time.
Where is the table at the back of the classroom?
Other than literally meditating during meditation time, these are some great options of things you can do with your time.
What is draw, color, write, read a book, etc?
After instructional time, we'll have our "Studio Time". During this time you may collect supplies as needed, but only if you can do that this way.
What is efficiently and with respect for your peers and our studio space?
This is where I should be when Ms. Herning or HOTI staff lets me know it's time to line up for dismissal.
Where is in your seat?
This is when you should collect any materials you might need or want during the beginning of class meditation time.
When is as you enter the room and within the first 2-3 minutes of class?
Ms. Herning takes meditation time very seriously! On top of respecting the time and space for yourself and your classmates, this is why you should respect it for her.
What is sometimes she is using this time to take care of a quick task or two so she is also clear headed and ready to focus and give y'all her best energy each day at the beginning of class?
This is what you should do before hollering at Ms. Herning, to make sure she can give each of you her undivided attention.
What is look around the room and make sure she is not in the middle of a sentence or assisting a classmate, and wait patiently if she is. :)
