Contrast refers to elements of an image or composition that differ from one another.

The term frame refers to the composition (or what is being included and how it is included) of a visual text. This includes consideration of the depth, width and height of the object being represented.

A drawing or painting which represents an idea. In books, illustrations illuminate or emphasise the focus of the story.
