Define Linear Equation
An equation that forms a line

What is an equation?

What is a rational number?
A number that has a repeating pattern, can be written as a fraction, and/or ends.

What is an inequality?
It describes a relationship between two numbers that are not equal, using an inequality symbol.
What is an irrational number?
Decimals that NEVER END and HAVE NO REPEATING PATTERN.

What is a continuous graph?
A graph with connected lines and curves.
What are compound inequalities?
Two inequalitities (or more) joined together with "and" or "or".
Define Absolute Value.
The distance from zero on a number line; always positive.

What is a function?
A special relationship between values; each input (x) has exactly one output (y).
What is interval notation?
Interval notation is another way of expressing the answer to an inequality. It uses parentheses and brackets to show where the graph starts and ends.
What is an algebraic expression?
A math phrase made up of numbers and variables; no = sign.
Define quotient
Define Parallel AND Perpendicular.
Parallel - lines that never intersect, or lines that go on infinitely.
Perpendicular - lines that intersect at 90-degree angles.
What is range?
x-values scan left to right
y-values scan top to bottom
What is a literal equation?
Equations with multiple variables.
What are matrices?
Rectangular arrays of data in rows and columns.
When graphing inequalities, which has the open circle? Which has the closed circle?
