a comparison that does not use the word like or the word as. It says that one thing is another thing..

a part of an act in a drama defined by the changing of characters.

is a piece of writing that is presented through the use of dialogue. It is almost always presented to an audience.

The words that are spoken by the characters in the drama/play.
what is dialogue?
- A pattern of rhyming words at the end of lines. explains which lines rhyme. Letters are used to identify which rhyme scheme is used. Matching letters indicate which lines rhyme. (Examples: AA, BB, AA, BB or ABC, ABC, ABC) Ex: The song consists of five verses using the AABB
what is rhyme scheme?
a group of usually four or more lines which may have a certain length, meter, or rhyming scheme; creates a division in the poem. they have a space between them which makes them easy to identify.
what is stanza?
a comparison of two unlike things or ideas that uses the word like of the word as. they are used in literature to make writing more vivid and powerful. In everyday speech, they can be used to convey meaning quickly and effectively.
What is simile?
– the repetition of an initial consonant sound. Most tongue twisters use alliteration. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers is a common alliteration. Ex: She shears sheep is an example of alliteration.
What is alliteration?
is a type of literature, or artistic writing, that attempts to stir a reader's imagination or emotions. The poet does this by carefully choosing and arranging language for its meaning, sound, and rhythm. Some poems, such as nursery rhymes, are simple and humorous.
