Name 2 types on interviews
How many copies of a resume should you plan to take with you?
3... It's better to be overprepared
What should you wear for a virtual interview?
Is this appropriate?
Wear the same thing you would to an in-person interview.
Just make sure to dress appropriately for the type of business you are interviewing for.
No. The images from the question are not appropriate. You should be fully dressed. Imagine the interviewer asking you to stand up...
What should you do immediately after the interview?
Ask what the next step in the hiring process is
Thank your interviewer for their time
Ask how you should follow up
Get your interviewers contact information
Write a thank you email
Plan for a second interview
Continue your job search
Is it appropriate to ask questions to the interviewer to make small talk?
Yes! This will help in making a connection. Plus the interviewer might like a break from being the one asking all the same questions over and over.
Example: “I’m doing great, thank you! How about you? Did you work on anything fun this morning?”
True or False:
You should always nod along when the interviewer is speaking
False:
Nodding in agreement with everything, regardless of the message, makes you look too agreeable.
Even worse, if you’re not paying attention and then get asked a question related to the issue you were nodding about, you could look like an idiot.
On the other end of the spectrum, shaking your head should be kept to a bare minimum to avoid looking disagreeable.
What should you look up when researching a company?
Clients, products, and services
The company’s culture, mission, and values
The person interviewing you
The skills and experience the company values
Key players of the organization
News and recent events about the employer
Using websites like Glassdoor, you can typically find information such as salary figures, employee functions and duties, company reviews, details about the hiring process, and more.
True or False
If you're having a trouble sitting up straight you can cross your arms to maintain your posture
False:
Crossing your arms sends the message that you are closed off, closed minded, defensive or bored. It does not matter if you find this the most comfortable way to hold your arms.
True or False
You should write down everything you can remember after an interview?
True:
Immediately after the interview, you should jot down all important points. You might be asked similar questions in a second interview or an interview for a different company. Instead of using the same answers, you can add to them.
This is also a chance to write down anything you wanted to say during an interview but didn't get a chance to or forgot.
Go over what went well and what didn't so next time, you know what to improve on.
How early should you arrive to your interview?
