What do I do after I come through the 5th street gate?
I line up 6 feet apart behind the #32
When do I go to the bathroom?
Every student must go to the bathroom at recess. Even if you think you don't need to, you must try.
Students will not be allowed to use bathroom during class time unless it is an extreme emergency.
Are we still zooming?
Our zoomies will be zooming all the time.
Roomies will zoom into RTI and ELD class from desk with your earbuds. Roomies will not zoom for science or PE.
Do I still need to do my google classroom assignments?
Yes, all students will still submit most of their homework through google classroom. The in-person students will have some paper assignments as well.
Do I have to wear my mask all the time?
Yes! Your mask needs to be worn all the time covering your mouth and nose.
What do I do as I come in classroom and as I leave classroom?
I sanitize my hands.
What do I do when recess is over?
I line up six feet apart behind #32. We will walk back to class together, enter room one by one, sanitize by door, put snack in backpack, and start reading.
Do I still need to raise my hand?
Yes, and more patience is required than usual as I will be managing distance learners and a lot of technology.
What's up with my desk? Is it my desk?
You will share your desk with a student in B group. It will be cleaned and sanitized at lunch. Your bin and box are where your supplies are kept.
You cannot store belongings in your desk.
What if I need to blow my nose?
Good question! Go to the door-grab a tissue by the door-walk outside- take off your mask- blow your nose-put on your mask-throw tissue away-sanitize your hands- sit down.
Where do I put my backpack?
My backpack lives by my desk.
Where do I eat snack?
There will be a designated snack area.
What are some "p" words that we need?
We need patience, perseverance, politeness, and personality. All these rules and changes are hard but we can do this together if we bring our all our P's to school.
Is homework still due Sunday night?
Yes, with the exception of daily math homework for roomies, google classroom assignments will be due Sunday night.
Can I drink my water bottle at my desk?
Yes, hang your mask from one ear, drink and put mask back on.
What do I bring back and forth to school?
whiteboard, 2 math books, planner, notebook, snack, water bottle, red folder, blue folder, fully charged chrome book, charger cord, snack, water, whiteboard, (leader in me and fraction tiles come back to school and stay at school)
Where and how do I get to play at recess?
Our class will rotate between 3 different recess areas (blacktop, playground and field). One class will be at one recess area. You will only be playing with your class at recess. Your mask needs to stay on at recess. You still need to maintain 6 feet.
When will I use my chrome book at school and how will I take care of it?
You will use it for google classroom assignments and zooming for RTI and ELD. Use the Dixon cover sleeve to protect your chrome book in your backpack. At home you will do homework on chrome book and charge your chrome book.
Will we be using our planner?
Yes, as soon as you get settled in your seat, take out your planner and copy the day's schedule on the board.
When will I use my headphones?
You have headphones in your supply box. You will use them to zoom into RTI and ELD. If you are working on something different than rest of class and you need audio, you will use earbuds.
How do I leave school?
Load backpack, stand by desk, leave one by one, put bin and box on counter, sanitize hands as you exit, line up six feet apart by rail, and walk with Mrs. Meyer to exit gate.
Can I use equipment at recess?
You will have equipment to use when you are on blacktop and in field.
Can we enjoy Mrs. Meyer's books?
Yes! I'm excited for you to check out my books to read IN SCHOOL. You can write your name and book title and date on clip board and keep 2 books at your desk in your bin. For now, you will be able to switch books one time per week.
Can we still earn and use dojo points?
Yes! I may change some of the reward options to fit in-person school. Please email me your ideas.
Do I have to stay in my seat the whole time?
Besides, recess, PE and body breaks you will be expected to stay in your seat.
